Memorial Day has come & gone...summer has "unofficially" begun!
Vacations plans are underway, gardens are being planted & kids are looking forward to the last day of school!
Our flower garden is getting a good start...before you know it the yard will be decorated with Stargazer Lillies, Dahlias, Gladiolus, Sweet peas, Daylillies, wildflowers...
Our garden is planted and will, hopefully, bring about tomatoes, colored peppers, rhubarb, leaf lettuce & strawberries! Can't forget about our modest herb garden offering wonderful herbs such as sage, thyme, basil, spearmint & chives!All of which will be incorporated in our breakfast dishes, of course!
For those of you who have visited the Clark Point Inn previously, take a closer look, as we have undergone some big changes along with new ownership.
The guestrooms have taken on new identities with fresh coats of paint, new bedding & decor! We are so excited to be able to bring our own tastes to the Inn!

~ Southwest Harbor is ranked as one of the top ten commercial fishing harbors in Maine.
~ Bass Harbor Lighthouse has been guiding mariners since 1858 & the light has never been turned off !
~ Sand Beach is composed mostly of crushed seashells & sea urchin skeletons and the water rarely rises above 55 degrees.
~Between 1916 - 1921, seven major motion pictures were filmed on Mount Desert Island. Sand Beach & Thurston's Lobster Pound were featured in 'The Cider House Rules'.
~ The peak of Cadillac Mountain is the first spot in the United States to see the rays of the sun! A must see!
~ 'Skylands', a summer estate located in Seal Harbor, was built in 1925 by Henry Ford's son. Today the decadent home is owned by Martha Stewart.
~ The coast of Maine is believed to have formed roughly 550 million years ago on an ancient continent called 'Avalonia'.
~ Mount Desert Island measures 107.77 square miles & holds the title of 3rd largest island off the coast of the continental U.S.

Some events we are planning are:
~ Hypnotherapy weekend! A unique weekend with a local, professional, licensed hypnotherapist!
~ Mommy & Me Tea Party! Ladies only! If you are between the ages of 1 year old & 100 years old , you are invited! We'll be dressing up in our teatime best for a good old fashioned tea party!
~ Feast Today For We Diet Tomorrow! The only requirement for this gathering is a very large sweet tooth! Our "feast" will include anything from lollipops to ice cream...jellybeans to homemade fudge... peanut butter cups to cotton candy! The "diet" will start the next morning with a healthy breakfast buffet of fresh fruit & veggies, homemade granola, yogurts & fresh juices! Hope to see you there!
~ Chili Fiesta! Mark loves chili! We invite you to join us for a chili fiesta to warm your soul whent he weather gets cold. We'll have all the perfect pairings...chips & guacomole, nacho cheese biscuit bread & "mocktail" Margarita's! To take the heat off, dessert will consist of our South of the Border Lime Cake with frozen vanilla yogurt. Ole!
